Thoughtful company for complicated people.
There is room here for the serious and the silly.
Most days, they arrive together.
A book you keep thinking about. A scene in a film. A conversation that changes how you see someone. A joke that lands a little too close to home.
Very Human Beings™ is a place to share those things—and to think about how we live, what we care about, why we are so often at odds with ourselves, and how the technologies in our hands become part of the story.

Work, love, fear, taste, ambition, change, and the ordinary details people do not always know how to talk about. We will talk about technology too—not as a villain or a miracle, but as one more collaborator in the strange business of being human.
The first episode is in the works.

Different ways into the same conversation.
Ideas that hold up under a little scrutiny.
Stories, images, games and songs that stay with you.
Something that makes you see things differently.
Small pleasures worth making space for.

I made Very Human Beings™ for the things I keep coming back to: good writing, beautiful images, useful ideas, strange details and the funny, difficult work of being alive. Technology belongs here not because I think it is the whole story, but because it is now woven through our work, our families, our attention and even our self-justifications.
I care about a good question, a clear sentence, a beautiful image and a bit of humour. I do not think taste is about being exclusive; I think it is about attention. Dear reader, I do not have a clean answer to any of it. I have a pencil, a browser with too many tabs, and an abiding belief that we can still decide how the story goes.
