A short account of what this early version of the site does with information.

Last updated

A very small-data website, at present.

Very Human Beings™ is currently a static editorial site. We do not ask you to make an account, submit a contact form, buy something, join a mailing list or give us a profile. We do not run first-party analytics, advertising pixels or behavioural advertising on this site.

What the site does not collect through a form

  • No name, email address, phone number or mailing-list record.
  • No payment or purchase information.
  • No account, password or profile.
  • No first-party cookie-based analytics or advertising tracking.

What happens when you visit

Like most websites, the hosting and delivery services that make the site available may receive routine technical information needed to load a page: an IP address, browser type, device or operating-system information, requested URL, time of visit and similar server-log details. We do not use this site to build personal profiles from that information.

The site loads the DM Sans web font from Google Fonts. Your browser may make a request to Google to retrieve that font. Google’s handling of that request is governed by Google’s own policies, not ours.

Links to other places

Essays often link to books, research, artists, stores, publications and other useful corners of the internet. Once you follow one of those links, that other site’s privacy practices apply. Please read their notice if you are deciding whether to provide them information.

If you choose to send feedback through the project’s Instagram account, we receive the profile information and message you choose to share there. That exchange happens on Instagram and is also governed by Instagram’s own policies. We use feedback to respond when we can and to improve the site; it does not quietly add you to a mailing list.

For a privacy question about this site, email lex@lexartia.com. If you email, we receive the address and message you choose to send so we can respond; we do not use it to create a mailing-list record.

Cookies and future changes

We do not intentionally set cookies for analytics or advertising at this stage. Your browser, hosting provider or a site you visit after leaving may have its own technical practices. If we add a newsletter, analytics, commerce, login or contact form, we will update this notice before asking you for information.

The practical version: you can read the site without signing up or handing over personal details. If that changes, this page will say so plainly.
